The Time of the Parenthesis

The Time of the Parenthesis is a series of photographs taken in a warehouse in the backstreets of Bermondsey, South East London.

A group of artists had been working in the space over a period of two months.  As their deadline neared, the activity in and around the space became increasingly frenzied.

Then suddenly:
Work stopped.  The artists departed.

Leaving a layer of dust and debris slowly settling in their wake.

During that quiet time, after the artists’ departure and before their return three days later to clean up and clear-out, these photographs were taken.  Capturing the time between the making of marks and the erasure of evidence.
